At the Arctic Open, fans are enjoying watching Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen riding the wave of their silver in Copenhagen, while it was heartbreak for Anders Antonsen.

For a long time, Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen struggled to trouble the stylish game of Mohammad Ahsan/ Hendra Setiawan. In 2023, the World silver medallists have now defeated the experienced Indonesians twice.

Astrup/ Rasmussen have continued their solid form this year and remained cool in the opening game before running away with the match, 21-17, 21-12.

All-Danish final denied
It was just a few points away from a Danish men’s doubles final in Vantaa. Rasmus Kjaer/ Frederik Sogaard almost topped a terrific week with a final, but narrowly lost to Malaysian pair Man Wei Chong/ Kai Wun Tee, 21-19, 19-21, 19-21.

Antonsen injured
Anders Antonsen recovered from an injury earlier in the year to step onto the World Championships podium on Danish soil with a bronze medal around his neck. Looking to carry on this top form Antonsen took on Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in a competitive opening game.

However, Antonsen hurt himself in a lunge mid-way through the second game, leaving the match at 17-21, 8-13.

Lee now faces the new emerging Malaysian talent, Ng Tze Yong, who is yet to lose a game, in the final.
