Primorye Vladivostok are Champions

Primorye Vladivostok is the winner of the 2019 European Club Championships after a 3-0 win against BC Chambly Oise in Junglinster, Luxembourg.

The team from Russia won the Men’s Singles category, Women's Singles, and the Men’s Doubles category, despite a fight from Bastian Kersaudy and Robert Mateusiak in the final match.

Two in a row for Vladivostok

The team which is filled with players from the Russian national team made sure that they would retain the gold medals this year.

Vladimir Malkov got it started from the beginning, showing his skill and ability to beat Eetu Heino from Chambly Oise. Unfortunately, the Finnish Men’s Singles player had to withdraw due to injury midway through the second game. (21-10,21-)

Next, it was the Women’s Singles, and Evgeniia Kosetskaya showed why she is the former European Champion, after beating Soraya De Visch Eijbergen in straight games. (21-15,21-9)

The tie was then decided in the Men’s Doubles. The former winners of the YONEX All England making the tie safe after beating Bastien Kersaudy and Robert Matteusiak in straight games, despite a good effort from the French pair. (21-11, 21-12)
