Raul Must has had to change his travelling plan following a shock leap into the semi-finals of the European Games.

The medals at this year’s European Games will be fought between Denmark, France, Estonia and Israel.

The first result of the category came for Anders Antonsen who beat his opponent Toby Penty from Great Britain in straight games.

Next was Misha Zilberman who needed three games to beat Mark Caljouw from the Netherlands, shortly after Brice Leverdez also progressed, after beating Vladimir Malkov in straight games.

Before Raul Must beat Felix Burestedt to win the first ever medal for Estonia at senior level for a multi-sport competition.

Time to book a new flight

Must, who was in a group with Anders Antonsen among others, progressed which he did not expect, and even planned to go home on Friday.

The Estonian explained what it felt like to be the first to win a medal for his country in badminton.

- It is a good feeling, it is amazing. It has been a struggle, I honestly did not see it coming, Must said.

- When I saw the draw, I thought I had a chance to get through the group, but to get a medal, it is a dream come true.

I told my NOC to book my flight for Friday because then I am not wasting time here, and I can go back home.

- Now I have to change a ticket, and it is okay because it has been going so well, I am so happy, it is a good thing to change the ticket, he continued.

Must will now play Brice Leverdez in the semi-final while Anders Antonsen will play Misha Zilberman in the other match tomorrow.
