It's been a while since Spaniard Pablo Abian took part in a Badminton Europe Circuit event. The current world number 93 played in his home tournament Spanish Open in May one of his last events before the 2013 World Championships in Guangzhou, where he reached the last 16 stage only losing to the eventual semi-finalist Tien Minh Nguyen of Vietnam in three games. The 38th Yonex Hungarian International, which kicked off in Budapest yesterday, is the first international tournament for the top seed Abian since the world meet in August.

In Raul Must (Estonia), Mattias Borg (Sweden), Rasmus Fladberg (Denmark) and France's Thomas Rouxel, Abian will face a number of strong rivals to take the take Hungarian crown.
