Indian Subhankar Dey had a fantastic week at the SaarLorLux Open first beating Lin Dan and then claiming the title beating Rajiv Ouseph.



At the first meeting between Subhankar Dey (India) and Rajiv Ouseph (England) the Indian had the upper hand in the beginning of the match leading 7-1 and 8-3, and the Indian won the first game 21-11.

- My homework paid off. I was more patient and more relaxed. I had nothing to lose. I have done well this week, so I would just enjoy the final, Subhankar Dey said.



Beating ‘The Best’

On his way to the final Indian Subhankar Dey, who is based in the Danish capital of Copenhagen, has beaten among others Chinese legend Lin Dan, English international Toby Penty and Chinese talent Ren Pengbo, and after the final against the former European Champion the Indian could make another characteristic celebration.



The 25-year-old won his first title of 2018 beating Rajiv Ouseph 21-11 21-14

- I just cannot believe it. It is my biggest achievement in my life. I will not be sleeping tonight, the Indian said.



- Winning here is amazing. An beating Lin Dan is very special to me.
