Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge surprisingly won against the World Champions Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen and reached the quarterfinals of the DANISA Denmark Open.

The biggest surprise of Day 3 at the DANISA Denmark Open was Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge reaching the next round of the tournament. The English pair won against the World Champions from China,  Junhui and Yuchen.

The surprise of the day

Ellis/Langridge won the match after two games, with 21-16 and 21-16, which is the second time in history for the Englishmen who already won against the Chinese pair at the French Open in 2016.

- Two years is a long time, a lot of things can change. But actually, the match today was not so different from the last one. Li/Liu struggled today, but we do not really know what it was exactly what we did better today, Marcus Ellis said after the match.

- The match included some ups and downs. But I think overall, our tactic has been better than theirs and we had quite a big run in the second game. They have been really annoyed by us; they did not even shake hands with me in the end, Chris Langridge said.
