Tallinn ready for historic EJTC

34 countries enters the 2018 European Junior Championships in Tallinn. The high number of entries equals the highest attendance ever for a European Junior Championships.

The biggest talents of European badminton will meet in Tallinn, Estonia where the 2018 edition of the European Junior Championships will take place.

BADMINTON EUROPE IS HIRING

Looking at the former winners of the European Junior Championships it is clear, that this event is a good indication upon who will make it to the top later in the career.

Moldavian rookies
Players like Carolina Marin and Viktor Axelsen have claimed the title as European Junior Champion within the last decade, and in September the youngsters have the chance to play themselves into the big books of European badminton history.

Even before the event kicks off a piece of history is already written: Moldova will take part in the European Junior Championships for the first time ever.

- I am very happy to see that new nations continue to enter players on this level by joining our events. I am certainly looking forward to see the Moldavian players on court in Tallinn, and I believe this is just the first of many times we will see Moldova compete at this level in Europe, knowing that they as one of few European countries have qualified two players for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Jimmy Andersen, Senior Manager at Badminton Europe says.

Key dates
The team event of the 2018 European Junior Championships takes place from 7th-11th of September, and the seeding will be announced on July 31st. The draw will be conducted and published on the website of Badminton Europe on August 2nd.

It is still possible to enter the individual part of the 2018 European Junior Championships:

- The entry deadline is on August 14
th, and I really hope, that we will see even more countries taking part in the individual event. My hope is, that 40 of our Member Associations will enter the event in Tallinn.

The seeding for the individual event will take place on August 24
th, while the draw will be conducted on August 28th.
