The Danish team are ready for the upcoming European Men & Women Team Championships in Kazan, and the Danes admit that it will be a disappointment for Danish badminton, if they don’t get the gold.
Even the national championships in Denmark is taking place at this weekend, the Danish players still feel that they are ready for the European Championships in the upcoming week.
The Danish team has big ambitions, and its only gold they are looking for in Kazan both at the Danish team in men and the Danish team in women.
- It’s gold for Denmark, I think. It is our object. I think we have a very strong team, and we have some strong substitutions, who can get into the tournament. We need to get a medal and preferably it will be gold, says Sara Thygesen to Badminton Europe.
Maiken Fruergaard, who plays in women’s double with Sara Thygesen, agrees with her partner.
- You can say it will be acceptable for us, if we can get into the final, but for sure it is the gold, and it will be a big disappointment, if we not get the gold, says Maiken Fruergaard til Badminton Europe.
Also, the Danish team in men has big ambitions for the upcoming European Championships in Kazan, and they also have to win the gold medal, if you ask them.
- I aim that we can take the gold home to Denmark, and it is our object, says Anders Skaarup to Badminton Europe, and he adds:
- We have only just arrived here in Denmark again after a three weeks trip to Asia, but I think that our players have a good condition at this moment, ends Anders Skaarup to Badminton Europe.
European Men & Women Team Championships in Kazan is taking place from 13th February.
