The second Shuttle Time trainers’ course this year was held in Dublin from 16 to 17 November 2012.  23 candidates from 15 European countries took part in the intense two-day course. The sessions were directed by the experienced BWF/BEC expert Joann Hughes from England.

Badminton Ireland, the local organizer, provided great conditions for the course. Everything run smoothly and the participants were satisfied. There was a lot of working in the groups as well as a lot of practical exercises on the court, in order for the future tutors’ to learn how to instruct the teachers. Laughing, smiling, making new friends and intensive work from early morning to the evening - those are the words to describe the two-day course in Dublin.

The results of the course will be known in a few weeks’ time. The participants who will successfully pass the course will become BWF/BEC certificated Tutors, who will be able to educate the teachers in their home countries. The educated teachers will than have enough knowledge to teach the basics of badminton as a part of their school lessons. That will help the children to get familiar with badminton at the early stage.

The interest for the Shuttle Time implementation in the schools is growing among the European countries. Currently we have six countries, who started the implementation in 2012 – Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Iceland and Russia. More countries will be ready to start with the implementation process in 2013.
