From 16 to 17 November 2012 the Shuttle Time Trainer’s course will be held in Dublin, Ireland. 23 participants from Belgium, Cyprus, Hungary, Lithuania, Italy, Romania, Croatia, Norway, Poland, Greece, Slovenia, Finland, Guatemala and Ireland will take part in the course, organized by Badminton Europe in cooperation with Badminton World Federation.

The participants will be educated to become the Shuttle Time Trainers. The trainers are in their home countries educating the tutors. The tutors are then running the teachers courses. Finally, the educated teachers will be able to include badminton in their school lessons, so the children will get familiar with the basics of badminton.

Another Shuttle Time Trainers course had already been held in April 2012 in Karlskrona, Sweden. Same as this course, the Karlskrona’s course was directed by Joann Hughes from England, the BWF/BE expert for the Shuttle Time and coach education courses.

Besides that, the Shuttle Time Tutors’ pilot was held in February 2012 in Malta. Another two Tutors’ courses have recently been held by Austrian Tina Riedl, BWF/BEC certificated Shuttle Time Trainer. The purpose of the courses was to educate the candidates from Austria.

As per today, Europe can provide seven educated Shuttle Time trainers and over fifty educated Shuttle Time tutors from fifteen European countries.

In 2012, five Badminton Europe Member Associations - Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland and Slovakia - started the implementation of the Shuttle Time project in their countries.
