Iztok Utrosa of Slovenia, who entered into the tournament as top seeded shuttler, celebrates his first international victory by taking the Slovak Open crown on Sunday. The 24-year-old from Lendava beat Jakub Bitman of Czech Republic in two games 21-9, 11-7. Bitman suffered an injury and had to retire in the second game.

Alesia Zaitsava, also top seeded in the woman's singles category, landed a convincing victory (21-17, 21-13) over her younger final opponent Natalya Voytsekh from Ukraine.

Welsh pair of Joe Morgan and Nic Strange proved to be the strongest men's doubles duo in the competition as both were only dropping a game in the semi-finals against a Czech duo. In Sunday's finals, Morgan/Strange beat the top seeds Aleksei Konakh/Yauheni Yakauchuk 21-9, 21-17 to take the men's doubles crown.

In the mixed doubles finals, Jakub Bitman and Alzbeta Basova of Czech Republic beat Ukrainians Vitaly Konov/Yelyzaveta Zharka in the most exciting match of the day. The deciding third set of this nail-biting 50-minutes contest was won by the Czech duo 21-19.

In an all-Ukrainian women's doubles affair, Yuliya Kazarinova/Yelyzaveta Zharka beat Anastasiya Dmytryshyn/Darya Samarchants in three games to secure the Slovak crown.
