Last week, Badminton Europe Confederation could celebrate the registration of the 10,000th BWF Shuttle Time Teacher in Europe.

This amazing number of teachers, proves the investment put in by many different people, from the BEC office to all the national federations, to develop the sport on the continent.

Launched in 2012, this school programme set the goal to give every child in the world the opportunity to lead a healthy and active life, and make badminton one of the most attractive school sports.

For 4 years, many different federations in the world have implemented this programme in their territory. Since 2012, 33 countries have practiced it in Europe, and some countries like Italy (2741 STteachers), Poland (1079 ST teachers) or Ireland (1487 ST teachers) are very active in the promotion of this certification.

Shuttle Time is still an on-going project which keeps having demands from new countries. Next year in Europe, Luxembourg, Cyprus, and Israel will start to implement Shuttle Time and will hopefully make the total number of ST teachers grow even more.

Badminton Europe would like to thank all the Member Associations who are participating in Shuttle Time projects; we salute the work you put into spreading our beloved sport in schools all over Europe.
