Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen spent a very successful week in France as the Danes won their 12th Superseries title at the Yonex French Open Superseries in Paris. The 2012 European Champions picked up their first Superseries title since winning the India Open in April, with a 18-21 21-9 21-7 score against Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan.

"We really enjoyed playing in Paris. It was a wonderful atmosphere. In the first game, we started too slow. We did not get scared when we lost the opening game. After we were able to change our pace, we've been in control all the time. But we expected it to be very close in the rubber-set. Suddenly we were leading 16-2", says Carsten Mogensen.

Adcocks fall just short in French Open bid

Chris and Gabrielle Adcock, the world number five pair from England, lost out to Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, the three-time Yonex All England champions, 21-9 21-16 at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris. "It was a tough final," said Gabby. "Annoyingly, we didn't play great today. We started to find our way in the second but was a bit too late. We are both disappointed."

The Indonesians, the number three seeds, raced away with the first game after opening up a 10-2 lead.

The English partnership, who reached last year's French Open semi-finals, briefly took the lead in the second at 8-7, before their talented opponents leapt into action and held advantage to take the match.

"Really disappointed end to what has been a great week for us," he said. "We never got into the game and the Indonesians were just too good, so credit to them."

They survived two match points against Dutch opposition in the last eight, before coming through in thrilling fashion against Denmark's Mads Kolding and Kamila Juhl in three games in the semi-finals.
