First quarterfinals for French duo

Margot Lambert and Anne Tran become the first French women to reach a Super 500 quarterfinals.

“We knew the game was not gonna finish easy for us, so we stayed focused” explained the relieved French duo Margot Lambert and Anne Tran who just beat the talented Indian duo Tanisho Cristo and Ashwini Ponappa in a match that ended 21-19 21-16.

This career highlight from the duo officially makes them the first French women’s pair to reach a Super 500 quarterfinal. “I think it’s good for France, and for women’s badminton”

FRENCH OLYMPICS 2024
Eyeing the Paris 2024 Olympics in France they remarked that this quarterfinal placement will be give them important points towards the tournament. “It’s still a long road towards the Olympic qualification (…) and it’s gonna be tougher and tougher, but these are important points.”

“It’s nice to play on a Friday” they explained, with a contagious grin and in their eyes, referring to the fact that they have reached the final stages of the competition.
