The Round of 32 at the VICTOR China Open 2023 has concluded, bringing us some exciting matchups to look forward to tomorrow.

Despite holding a 4-2 lead in their head-to-head record before their encounter, Kirsty Gilmour was unable to overcome Yvonne Li, falling to the German with a score of 16-21 18-21. Li will now face Denmark's Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt in the next round, who defeated American Lauren Lam 21-15, 21-13.

In another all-European showdown, the French pair Corvee/Labar were defeated by the Danish duo Kjær/ Søgaard with a score of 17-21 9-21.

Among the three European men's singles shuttlers in today's lineup, only one emerged victorious. Rasmus Gemke had an intense encounter against Thailand's Kantaphon Wangcharoen, ultimately winning 21-18, 18-21, 21-15. Meanwhile, Toma Junior Popov put up a great fight, recovering from a game down to claim the second game. However, he fell short in the close third game, losing 15-21, 21-10, 17-21. Lastly, Denmark's Magnus Johannesen was defeated by China's Shi Yu Qi with a final score of 8-21, 11-21.

Eighth seeds Gicquel/ Delrue played a complete and impressive match of badminton against Taiwan's Chen/Chen. The French duo needed just two games to advance to the next round, winning 21-10 21-19. In the other mixed doubles match of the day featuring European players, the Dutch pair Tabeling/ Piek were defeated by Taiwan's Ye/ Lee with a score of 13-21 13-21.
