World Junior Championships: China wins three out of five golds

The BWF World Championships 2022 closed with China winning gold in all three doubles events. 

China was the most successful nation at the Individual Event of the BWF World Junior Championships 2022, winning three out of the five gold medals. In women’s doubles, Liu Sheng Shu/ Wang Ting Ge won against top seeds Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari/ Rachel Allessya Rose, Indonesia.

The men’s doubles title went to Xu Hua Yu/ Zhu Yi Jun while Muh Putra Erwiansyah/ Patra Harapan Rindorindo, won the second silver medal for Indonesia. The mixed doubles had an all-Chinese podium, with the nation taking all medals and Zhu Yi Jun/ Liu Sheng Shu as the champions.

Tomoka Miyazaki, Japan, stopped China from making it four golds. The women’s singles final went to three games, with the Japanese player losing the first game in a close result against Yuan An Qi, China, 21-14, 20-22, 21-17.

Kuo Kuan Lin, Chinese Taipei, faced number four seed S.Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian, India, in a win in straight games, despite the Indian player coming close to taking the win in the second game, 21-14 22-20.
