Spain and England into the quarterfinals

After three full days of mixed team competition, the last group matches were played at the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships in Santander, Spain, today. England and Spain are the only European teams that advanced to the quarterfinals starting tomorrow.

After beating the strong teams from Canada and Singapore on Monday, England was leading Group D from the start. With today's undisputed 5-0 win over the Netherlands they advanced to the quarterfinals and will tomorrow play against Chinese Taipei at 1:00PM. 

Hosting nation Spain also made the cut and reaches the quarterfinals of the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships for the first time. In Group F they beat Norway (5-0), Hong Kong China (3-2), and Estonia (3-2) and will face Korea tomorrow at 1:00PM.

European Champion Denmark finished second in Group E. After losing 0-5 against Korea on Monday the Danes won all their remaining matches and will now play for the ranks 9-16.
